Meet your Groomers

Steph

Growing up, our house was a home filled with lots of furry friends. From a very young age I was destined to work alongside animals, particularly my favourite canine buddies 🐾 I have my own pack at home: a Husky, Shiba Inu and Border Collie; each bringing their own unique personality into our home. Life together is one big adventure and there is never a dull moment, especially when the door bell rings (I know you know what I am talking about!)

I have over three years experience of working alongside dogs in a professional grooming environment in Leamington where I received my training. Although I am qualified in relation to experience I am currently working towards gaining my OCN Diploma to further increase the skillset I have.

I strongly believe that animals respond to human energy, which is why I have a successful track record of supporting, rehoming and grooming dogs. A self-confessed perfectionist, I will always try my best to achieve a high quality groom and I take pride in my work. My biggest goal from grooming is to ensure the dogs feel safe, taking my time to gain their trust. This relationship is the basis of all my practice.

I have a soft spot for big gentle, talkative giants such as huskies and Malamutes. I love Collie’s with their soulful eyes and I love a transformation groom on curly coated breeds such as cockerpoos and cavapoos.

Can’t wait to meet you!

Leanne

I don’t currently have a pampered pooch of my own but I am looking forward to owning another Wire-haired Fox Terrier sometime in the near future 🐾

I have been grooming dogs for 10 years. I started out volunteering at a salon in Knowle bathing and drying dogs, from there I enrolled on to a dog grooming course at Moreton Morrell College where I completed my City & Guilds Level 2 & 3. I became fully qualified 2 years ago after gaining my OCN Level 3 Diploma, you can find me on the The Groomers Spotlight a directory of qualified dog groomers. I have worked in salons in Coventry, Birmingham, Solihull, Evesham, Stratford Upon Avon and the last few years I have been working in Leamington Spa.

I love learning and in this job that never stops, I look forward to attending courses and seminars to try and improve my skills as a dog groomer. This year I have started my journey to gain ICMG UK (International Certified Master Groomer) qualification. Training other aspiring dog groomers is something else I really enjoy and I hope that in time with the growing success of What the Pup this is something we will be able to offer.

Breeds I most enjoy grooming are Shih Tzus, Lhasa Apsos, Cockerpoos/Cavapoos, Doodles, Bichons, Terriers. I am no expert at any particular breed but I always try my best to meet customer expectations, and work to a high standard.
